Tell Us Your Story

Welcome to A Moment for Motivation- The HappyCrawlers Blog. We hope to be a bright, HAPPY spot that motivates you. The idea for this blog came to me from my experience as a journalist and fond memory of watching CBS’s Steve Hartman’s “Everybody Has a Story” (and secretly hoping he’d tell my story. I always wanted to see what he’d include. He’s an amazing storyteller). In the series, Hartman proves that everyone has a story by randomly throwing a dart at a map of America and then finding a person in the city where the dart landed and then telling that person’s story. It was so interesting. I loved learning what made someone who they are and how they got to that moment in their life.

In our blog, we’ll share with you encouragement through the success of other professionals. We’ll introduce you to some of the people who motivate and amaze us with their talents and how they are taking their talents to the next level and giving back. You’ll learn how they reached for their dreams and overcame obstacles to get there. We hope you start to believe in yourself just that much more after reading about how others got to where they are in life. Sometimes it is just nice to take a moment to breathe and hear a positive story. You can do that here.

As long as I can remember growing up, I wanted to be a reporter. I loved meeting people and sharing their stories. The memories of my first times on air reporting and anchoring are some that I’ll always treasure (and sometimes cringe at). Storytelling has always been fascinating to me. In this blog, I take that passion for storytelling along with my love for the entrepreneurial spirit and merge them.

Back when my waist was smaller, I had fewer wrinkles, and I had never had my heartbroken, I stepped into a newsroom for the first time ever. I was interning with my favorite local morning news team, WFLA’s Gayle Guyardo, Bill Ratliff and John Winter. I truly believe in helping the next person along and I think I learned that lesson from my amazing mentor, Gayle Guyardo.

Gayle, in particular, taught me so much about TV news and business in general. She taught me how to write a compelling story, how to do my make-up for the cameras, etc. But more than that she showed me that it is so important to take time out of your busy schedule to teach and guide someone else along. Through all my professional and personal roles in life, I’ve tried to follow her example and make time to teach. Gayle showed me how to rise up and meet challenges head on. She taught me you have to stay positive and focused to reach your goals. All valuable lessons that I’ve taken with me as my career and life goals have changed over the years. I want to do the same for you. I hope to teach by example as we take our business, HappyCrawlers, to the next level.

We want to hear from you. What's your story? Give us recommendations of business professionals who you’d like us to profile. Ask us questions. We might not know the answers, but we’ll definitely try our best to find them for you. We truly believe in giving back and teaching by example. We hope our stories and examples of other successful individuals help you to grow and be that much happier with where you are headed! Happy travels always!
